Is it not possible to have the XM stations displayed by name in the presets? Mine only show number and I cannot possibly remember what number each station is.

 

I have noticed that in our 2014 RX as well. I can remember 4 for '40s, 5 for '50s, 6 for '60s and that is about it. We did not renew the service when it was due as we were not that impressed and did not listen to SAT music that much. We are planning a trip in June from CA to MO and back so we renewed recently for 6 months at less than $5.00/month to have music on the long drives. I doubt we will renew when the 6 months are up but having the preset buttons actually reflect the channel content, or at least be editable, would increase the appeal.

 

I dont have a 3rd Gen RX. But on every car I have owned with XM. You can select the display to show the channel number, Station, Band or song title. Somewhere in the menu of your car is the page that will change them.

 

Woefully missing as an option in 3rd gen RX.

 

So when you have your 3rd Gen RX on XM radio. What does the display show? I seem to remember people complaining that the title of the song doesn't scroll.

 

Looks like your screwed trying to get 36 Presets to display anything other than the Channel or Frequency.

Ditto! It's one of the "features" that disappeared. The wife's 2012 ES350 shows the station ID. She's actually considering going back to a Toyota Highlander hybrid instead of an ES hybrid when her lease is up at the end of the year if the presets will show the station ID. IMHO that is one of the bad moves Lexus engineers made in the new system. It ranks right up there with the 1,000 contact limit in the onboard phone book.
