Default Rust spots on new Rx450H

I bought a new 2014 RX450H in late December of 2013. The car has 5000 mikes on it now and today when cleaning the car, I noticed (hard to believe but true) 3 separate rust spots coming through the finish on the back hatch panel. I know I need to contact the dealer, but should I be screaming for a new body panel or just accept the fact the my new car has to be repainted? This is the 4th RX I have had. Never ever had a problem before. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sometimes it's easy to mistaken rust for brake dust or some other iron-based environmental particles that stick to the paint and look brownish orange in color. Did you try a wax cleaner/compound on one of the spots to see if it comes out?

Else, can you post pics. It will help decipher this unusual event.

Painful to sell welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that in the same sentence. But you're right, the dealer has to see it. Any chance you could show us the spots with a close up shot and one slightly further back to orientate the area?

Anyway, welcome.

Like Corrado said, I bet these are iron rust "blooms" in the paint. This is common on new cars as things like rail dust from transport, etc will imbed themselves in the paint and leave a little rust stain as they corrode.

A clay bar should take care of them.

Do they look like this?:

johnpapa, dont worry. I thought the same thing on my car when I first got it.

A product like IRON X will get rid of it in no time. No need to fear!
