I've gone thru the owners manual that shows the options I can preset via the display audio (don't have nav) and I don't see where it is possible to turn off the beep when the rear hatch is opened/closed. Is this possible?

 

Anything is possible, just dependent on the effort. I'm thinking of finding the chime and cutting it off.

 

probably not since it would be a safety issue maybe? i dunno though i havent seen the setting either

 

Good point on the safety issue, but as vlad_a pointed out, anything can be done, much like viewing a DVD on the NAV screen while car is in motion (not something I have done or recommend ever doing).

jer, I can't find any reference to the the rear hatch beep in the customizable features of the manual. I believe it's one of those preferences only the dealer can program. But before you have them shut it off, go through the list in case you want anything else changed. They'll only do it once for free.
