I am finally buying a new RX (my 2001 has been fantastic, but it is time for her to go) and I am having a hard time deciding betweeen the black or gray leather. I loved the look of the old models with the black leather and wood, but since they have changed to the ebony wood the interior is much less appealing. I do not like the parhment or saddle leather, so my choice is the gray or black, I would love to hear pros and cons on both choices and opinions on the ebony wood. Thanks so much for your feedback!
I have the gray interior in mine. I like the contrast and light color of it, but it requires diligence and effort to keep it clean. Blue jeans wreak havoc, so factor that in. Manageable and not a deal breaker, but something to deal with nonetheless. I also like the dark colored wood. I find it classy.
The light grey leather that is offered in the rx 350 is my favorite. But I bought the F sport model, so the only option was the black leather with the ebony birds eye maple. If I hadn't chosen the F sport, I still doubt I would have opted for the light grey leather fearing that I would go insane trying to keep the leather and carpets clean.

Luckily though the carpets are gray, the floor mats are black. So at least that hasn't been a problem.
I have the light gray interior on a silver lining metallic exterior.
My previous RX was the same combination. The only difference is the wood. ( it's now ebony vs the darker brown).
At first, i hated the ebony wood. But it's growing on me.
I agree, it's classier.
I have black interior on my other cars. So i'm not missing anything.

Thanks for your feedback, I forgot to mention I have a 15 month old, maybe the darker interior would be better?

I don't think that really matters. I have a 2 and a half year old daughter and she hasn't caused any issues. For what it's worth, I would do the gray again.

We also have the light gray interior and it is just ok. I would have preferred for it to be a several shades darker so it would have seemed a bit richer in color. Sometimes it looks almost off-white to me.
^^^Cheryl, looks stunningly rich. Too bad F-Sport is all black-only (including the headliner), one of the weak points of the F-Sport IMO.
I would have liked it darker to match the silver metallic on the steering wheel.
BTW, this picture was taken when the car was a week old, the same day we were putting the Leather Master Protection Cream on the seats.
We were airing it out to dry
It was clean then although the rain did pretty good today.
