2002 Lexus Options (confused)
After visiting Longo Lexus, I have decided to purachase a 2002 LS430 with Ultra Lux package to replace my 1996 BMW 740IL.
I am having trouble getting the right conbination.
Exterior Color: Silver Metallic
Interior Color: (slight problem)
I would like to get the dark wood (burled walnut interior trim)which is only available with the Black interior. (but don't want the black leather).
I would love to get the Ecru with the darker wood, but it only comes in a shade of grey wood (bird's-eye maple).
My first choice was grey interior, but it's not offered in the LS430 with the UL package. (That's too bad, for $70K, I should be able to get it my way!)
Silly question, how mauch would it cost to change the interior wood? And what do you guys think of the Bird's Eye Maple (grey wood). Good/Bad?

Hey,
My family ran into that exact problem. We liked the dark wood becuase it looked classy but didn't want the black interior. The gray interior you want, is the cheap leather, not the california leather. Well if you wanted to switch out the ecru wood combo then it'd cost thousands i think. Well let me know if you have any other questions.

The UL option has the climate controlled seats which require the perforated seating surfaces - which only comes in ecru black and bordeaux colors - so gray or other colors are out.
As for the wood trim, I too wanted the darker wood but finally settled for the birds-eye maple. Perhaps I have got used to it, it does not seem that unnatural anymore [Initially, I detested the plasticky look]

I actually did this.
They can order anything you want really, even the LS430 in other Lexus vehicle colors you just have to wait. Back when I was going to do the 01 LS430, before my office bought my LS400 as my company car, I had ordered a blue onyx with black analine Ultra Luxury, with the california walnut (base car) wood. The Bordeaux was a little too purple for my tastes. Unfortunately you gotta wait, I forget the actual wait time for that car but it was high, almost 7 or 8 months.
