Default RX 350 Question - Would you buy another?

Serious question for all drivers that bought the Lexus RX350 in the last 3-4 years:

Would you invest in another RX350?

Wow, that is a serious question. I better sit down to answer this one... ;-)

Yes, I did and would invest in another. I went from a 2002, to a 2010, to a 2014.

Sure enough, a serious question for this forum. Had to think really hard and the answer is "yes"

My wife likes the extra visability gained from sitting up higher so we got her the RX350. But the next new car is mine - and I just saw the new RC350. So to answer your question, I probably won't buy an RX next time - but i will buy another Lexus.

My wife went from a 2011 to a 2014.
Last year I bought a 2013 RDX w/tech package for myself and I have to say that except on fun to drive factor and exterior looks, the RX runs circles around the Acura on finish, technology, gadgets, quietness. If I had to buy again for myself, I would consider the RX over the MDX. I did not like their third gen.

I just went from a 2010 450h to a 2013 450h last week. So I guess the short answer is Yes!

Went from a 2000 RX300 to an 08 RX350 than bought an 12 IS350C for myself, just traded in the 08 for a 14 RX350 Fsport, so yes.

No - I expect a luxury SUV to be quiet. My RX 350 is not. So I will consider buying something else that is not as noisy. I am fed up with engine noise, ticking noise, wind noise - all sorts of noises - some are difficult to reproduce.

Answer to the question : 100% NO !!!!
Have owned a brand new 2013 RX350 for three months now. Not satisfied with the purchase. Here are a few reasons why:
Navigation system freezed/stopped completely while driving.Dealer unable to diagnose the reason. On researching numerous auto forums some of which are specific for Lexus owners, found numerous complaints related to the same issue.Surprised why Lexus has ignored the issue and not come up with a solution !!
Very disapointed with the voice command.Total lack of consistency in responding to the same commands.
Bumpy ride. Feel every single bump on the ride.Night and day difference between the ride of the 2004 RX 330 I DRIVE AND THIS VEHICLE.Lacks the plush ride Lexus is famous for, or should I say "was famous for".
Enform App suite keeps disconnecting ever so often even when in use.
The backup camera should have guidelines that move as per the steering wheel.
There are no sunglass holders in this vehicle!
Voice command feature is terrible.Have experienced a much better system in a economical domestic car.Expected a much better responsive feature in a "QUALITY LUXURY " vehicle after spending TOP Dollars !!
Door ajar indicator does not specify which particular door is ajar/open. Have to check all doors physically to find the one which is open!!!!Probably saved Lexus thousands of $$$ by eliminating this feature.
Dismal gas mileage, despite driving in Eco mode.
Rear seating not comfortable , especially the headrests.
Not a smooth ride Lexus is famous for. Feel every bump on the road. And yes , I checked my tires 32psi.

Although we are enjoying the '13 RX F-Sport, I would not buy a new one of the same 3rd generation, as I have my eye on the upcoming '15 NX.

Asking that question in a Lexus RX 350 forum, you are probably going to find a lot of biased RX enthusiasts and a few disgruntled buyers that expected something different from their purchase. Like many others here, this is not my first RX. I owned an 04 RX 330 before my 13 RX 350, which I have owned for nearly one year.

I love the ride of our RX but I opted out of the stiffer riding F Sport. I like the look on the outside, but don't care for either the ride or the plain black interior. Since this isn't a daily driver for us (my wife and I carpool in a Prius on most days), we didn't see the need for a hybrid. It would take us many years to get the payback. I don't believe the ride in our RX 350 is any worse than the RX 330 we had before, but it isn't necessarily any softer or more luxurious either. I would argue it is very similar.

As for noise, I must respectfully disagree with another poster on that issue. I think it is very quiet compared to the average vehicle. Drive a Prius for a few days if you want to see or rather "hear" what a noisy car sounds like. I suspect those that aren't satisfied with the quietness are coming from a larger vehicle with a full frame, like an Escalade or Range Rover. I suspect that a comparison of similar vehicles will put the RX in a favorable position.

It isn't a big challenge to determine which door is ajar so that is disappointing but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I was also disappointed at losing the illuminated doorsills when moving from our 330 to the 350. I would like to see better gas mileage too, but everything pales compared to the Prius so I try not to be too critical of that.

Anyway, the answer to your question is yes. Already did once and would absolutely buy again. It is a great vehicle for me based on my expectations, a thorough test drive and careful equipment selections.

Funny. I love my RX350. But I will admit that the ride is not as "soft and floaty" as my friends RX400h back in about 2007/08. The bumps are a bit sharp. But as I have said before, the roads around here have buckled so many times from frost freeze that they are pure crap. On any newer road, no complaints whatsoever.

Sometimes it seems there are two assembly lines, one for smooth ride, one for rough, going by some of the comments in various threads in this forum.

I will be very interested in the 4th generation. I think a car like this should simply double up on soundproofing just on general principles. Folks, I think we all agree, there is simply no need for a noisy car. I would easily pay $500 more for a car with near total soundproofing. which would likely require about $110 worth of wholesale priced foam or whatever. Sheesh.

And bring back the lighted sills. Again, WTF is Lexus thinking here? And for Lord's sake, backlight the reading lamp stack. I was embarrassed the other day as a passenger needed the light and I struggled to find the switch.

And can you say HEATED STEERING WHEEL? They really need to kick it up a notch. Here on Cape Cod, I see so many of these cars around generally it amazes me. I can only figure that they, like me, considered all of their options and chose the best car available for their budget and needs, as did I.

So yes, I would buy another, but I expect Lexus to do their part too.

After a 1999; 2000; 2003; 2005; 2008; 2010; and 2012. I might consider the NX when it comes out.
