Also rule of thumb. When taking pictures to show off, never take them where you reside, work, or frequent on the regular.

Consider me properly chastised; I will take ALL future pics of cars in front of a downtown bar!!!!

Default Paranoid? Maybe

Could be that I'm a bit paranoid and block my plate number when posting photos in public forums. Might also be that I'm just not really wanting anyone to get any weird ideas, especially when I'm doing silly stuff.

I use Photoshop when I post a pic of my car in which the plate is visible, but rather than occlude the number, I change it. That screws up the identity thieves and is a lot more fun.

some people do it(not so much on a lexus site, but supraforums, svtperformance, etc) where they post nice pics of there cars, and then post another thread of them or video street racing or going 300mph, outrunning the cops, what have you. Then the plate # would be linked to that video or thread.
