Default What should I offer 2013 450h Used

Hey I am the one who has totaled lexus stuck here in Lubbock
Here is that thread:
Totaled Lexus 2006 RX 400H. Replacement needed soon.

Was google searching to see what was out there and found this actually in lubbock

http://bit.ly/1d0FHrR

This is way above what I would pay for a car and usually pay cash for auction prices luxury lexus that are older. But his maybe worth making a deal and making payments especially if can not get underwater and no interest?

What would you offer?

Thanks

You might check kbb.com. They have used car values; including CPO. Offer what you are comfortable paying; but, I think you can find a new one for $48,000 or close. I might try $44,000. Good luck.

paying cash is a DISADVANTAGE when negotiating, especially with dealers.
They take profit from the financing end as well.
Right now $1,500-2,000 off the price is a reasonable offer. Expect them to counter.

Can you wait until the 2014 are on the lot? you have a lot of bargaining power by then.

KBB Has CPO at 56000. That seems high.

I would not pay cash if bought this expensive of a car. As you see from other post I do have 20k cash to play with but not sure if would want to put that much down.

Not sure I can wait for this car until 2014 cars come on lot. MOst I could probably wait is 2 weeks as I am in a rental car right now and need to replace my totaled car.

When do 2014s come out?

What features/upgrade should I insist on being added at no extra charge? Thanks

it looks like this car been sitting in lot for a while after purchase from auction. I think I can give them a decent offer. Anymore suggestions?

That does not seem right. The sticker for a new car is less than that. Something went wrong on kbb.com (unless you added too many options). Here is a good rule on pricing for the 450h. Take the sticker, subtract $5,000 to $7,000 and that is what can be negotiated. Prices vary around the country. There are good dealers in TX, see 2013 pricing thread to find out what people got in TX on their cars.

Start at the END (meaning latest posts) and work your way backwards in this pricing thread:

Looks like I can get his car for 44700 + taxes, tags, licences works out to about 47000. Should I do it? or look for better deal.

It is not certified pre owned so not getting benefit of extended warranty I feel that takes some of value and also may influence interest I pay on financing. Should I insist making it CPO? Thanks

Really like to new technology in this vehicle. I am a high tech gal. Love the feel of the 2013 compared the the past 450h I test drive. A whole lot nicer than my beloved 2006 400 h I just totaled.

Thanks for the help

Looks like I may be paying too much if go for this deal?

http://www.truecar.com/prices-new/le...-450h-pricing/

Average price paid in this area is 45k and that is for new.

The one I am looking at has 4300 miles on it and is not even CPO. I am thinking I should walk away?

Print a copy from true car.com and bring it to the dealer.
Gives you more negotiating power. How long has the RX been on the lot? that's a factor too, if it's been sitting ther for more than a month, you can say you're doing them a favor by taking it off their hands.

Anyway, check the Monroney.. ( sticker on the window with the detailed items and price).
Most items are priced very expensively that can add to the price. Things like cargo mats, first aid kits, wheel caps, roof rack ( if present) etc can quickly make the price climb up.
These may not be on the checklist at truecar.com.

What about CPO? Should I insist that this needs to be done?

I will check if upgrades are included iin average price. but even still average means someone is paying a lot less than that for new and he is not giving me much room. I emailed the link to the dealer to give to the manager who makes all the decisions. Thanks

That is a very fair price and I would imagine that they would not be able to go any lower if at all. The CPO doesn't make a difference as you have about the same length of time still left on the factory warranty. Test drive it and if you like it you should go for it.
