Default 2010 rx350 am i missing a part?

i just got my steering column replaced. did the tech forget to install some sort of insert cover that goes in between the black steering wheel column and the beige color under dash?

I just checked mine and there is a similar gap if the steering wheel is in a medium to high position.

2008M3, I've merged your threads since they're both asking about whether you're missing a part. My steering wheel and the footwell area underneath look similar to yours. It's hard to take pictures since I have the black interior. What I can say is the felt piece is towards the back. It doesn't cover much of anything probably because the steering wheel moves when the RX is turned on and off. Both areas are not that visible so I don't mind it.

ok so the dealer said they have to check with the tech who did the steering column work but so far they said that the dust cover depends on the 2010 model and where it was made, whether in canada or japan. If the 2011 or 2012 have the dust cover it doesn't mean that my 2010 should have a dust cover. They want to compare EXACT apples to apples meaning 2010 made in canada like mine. They checked a 2010 that was made in Japan and had the dust cover and said they need to find a 2010 made in Canada.

This is weird, so if a 2011 and 2012 have a dust cover, and a 2010 made in Japan has a dust cover, a 2010 made in Canada might not have the dust cover?
