RX350 F-type Tow prep Package
Hi,
Do you know if RX350 F-Sport come with tow prep package or Can I order it ?
The Tow prep Package include heavy-duty alternator, heavy-duty radiator. That helps engine.
If I was to install aftermarket ones. It will cost a lot more than what dealer's sticker price cost ...

IMHO, don't waste your money. The only real benefit you get from the towing prep package is the lights controller installed in the trunk. It will cost you ~$35 extra to pop an aftermarket unit in (counting $15 4-pin harness you would have to buy anyway).

Food for thought: an upgraded alternator does a lot of good in the hybrid version of the RX that doesn't have one to begin with.

When towing, this is a must-have component. After 20 years of towing everything from hardtop campers, 31' travel trailers, canoe trailers to 5000lb. boats, don't even consider it without a trans. cooler. Bigger is better. Heat will destroy a transmission quicker than you can dig the cheque book out of your pocket.
