Default RX350 Tow Package question

Hi,

My 2007 RX350 comes with the factory "tow package", which includes the installed tow hitch, heavy duty alternator, as well as a transmission cooler. I purchased it CPO from the Lexus dealer, and I don't think it came with the original sticker (with the msrp, etc.). I was wondering if anyone can tell me, how much was this option, as well as the official package name. I tried to look this information up, but it seems like this package was rare, as I didn't come across too many RX's with these options.

Thanks!

It's called the 'Towing Prep Package'. It includes the transmission cooler, alternator, heavy duty radiator, and pre-wiring for trailer lighting. This package was included on almost all RXs. What wasn't included was the actual hitch. This was a separate accessory and not part of a package.

Do you know how much this package was?

My 2007 RX350 came with the premium plus package, Generation 5 Navigation with bluetooth, Rain sensing wipers, etc. It did not come with any Towing Prep Package and the factory sticker doesn't show anything either.

On my 2006 RX400h, the Tow Prep Package was $160 (MSRP) and $128 (Invoice). That did not include a tow hitch.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. When I was searching for RX's by VIN, and looking at the options that showed up with the corresponding VIN's, I rarely came across ones with the towing package.

Realistically, those numbers seem pretty low for Lexus to charge for a heavy duty alternator, as well as a transmission cooler. I think Toyota/Lexus charges that much for a "rear bumper application sticker", which is like a clear bra for the rear bumper.

Those prices are straight off of my invoice. Realize they're just charging for the difference between the standard and heavy duty alternator, and the cost of a transmission cooler.

I put a tow hitch (used 50.00) and wired my Lexus for less than 80.00 five years ago. They all come with trans coolers. Who cares about alternators? Jamie
