My RX350 lease expires next month. I can either roll right into a new 2013 rx or extend my current lease an additional 12 months hoping the new body style comes out next summer. I have seen plenty of info regarding the release of the smaller CUV NX for next spring 2014 but not much on the RX. Is it likely that Lexus will release a new body style for 2015 (debuting summer 2014)?

 

The spindle grill and LED DRL are fairly new.
My guess is, the 2014 will be another refresh.
I have a 2011 which closely resembled the 2010 except for the missing "LEXUS" logo on the rear.

 

2010 - 2012 were 1st half of 3rd gen. 2013 - 2015 will be the second half. New RX during 2015 MY is a high probability, it may arrive earlier than a normal model year intro. Pickup one of the new 27 month leases and your timing should be pretty good.

 

I don't see any refresh in MY 2014 after the refresh in MY 2013.

 

You're looking at at least a 6-year cycle. We're in the year 4, with a mild refresh. Nothing will happen in the next year or two. The NX may come out, which may further delay the new RX.

 

Welcome to CL, caneaddict. I have to agree 6 years is more likely. Gen 1 to 2 was 5 years, Gen 2 to 3 was 6 years. Gen 3 came out in spring 2009. With the refresh this MY and the NX debut some time next year, Lexus will probably delay any redesigns on the RX until at least the spring of 2015. You're better off getting into another two year lease like USCB suggested. Terminating it a few months early is always an option.
