Default Increasing horsepower output / custom exhaust

So my new 2013 RX 350 only comes with 270 horsepower. Competitors (MDX) provide about 300. Has anyone done anything to their vehicle that increased the horsepower output (preferably without voiding the entire warranty on the engine).

I'd also like to give the car a bit more of an aggressive exhaust sound. Has anyone done anything?

Going to get the front windows tinted on Monday.

Thanks for the help.

I have 300HP in the 450h and it is more than enough. With most of it going to the front wheels, peeling out from stop signs is not that much fun - too much torque steer.

You're not likely to get a gain of 30HP with simple bolt-ons. The RX, like a typical Lexus, is a great cruiser vehicle, valued for its comfort and quietness. I doubt many people had the exhaust modified or air intakes installed. I would try searching through forums of other models with the same engine (Camry?).

Straight pipe is the only way you'll get noticeable gains but it'll sound like a muscle car and drone like hell!

30 hp is a lot to gain from bolt ons, that would require a aftermarket air filter, headers, and a full exhaust system. Even then I don't think you'd hit 30
