Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical of such products. You never see the real thing, just a photo-shopped image.

It sounds like a significant hack of the existing setup. I would be too afraid myself. There is another company called vaistech that makes an add-on module for the RX that allows you to interface an Android phone, allowing you to get all the functionality of your phone (Google Nav, Audio, Video, Texting, Apps, etc.) while retaining 100% original functionality too. There are some YouTube videos on it so you can actually see it in action. I thought it was cool, it's still on my "maybe" list for later this year. Thinking about getting it instead of the Lexus Map Update.

That vasitech does look like a great device. Has anyone seen the 'hookup'? Is it just from the phone through the USB cable? Or is there a box that has to be hidden somewhere? I suspect that's the story given the price.

There is a box that hooks up between the phone and the Nav unit. One needs to buy an MHL ($40) adapter for their phone to get HDMI output required by the box. I'm not sure if it will work on 2013 as it is more integrated than 2010-2012 were. I sure hope it will.
Now all I need is a new phone and this device.
