Lexus Enform / eDestinations

eDestinations function does seem to be convolutional and unnecessary complex, even though it's not that difficult. We don't use it often enough to worry about it, and not likely to extend this service beyond the complimentary/included 1st year. However, it definitely is nice to talk to a live person and get your POI found and sent directly to the vehicle NAV when in a crunch. So, we'll re-evaluate the need vs want at the anniversary time.

I hope all furture NAV related upgrades (to be on par with Nissan, BMW...etc) to RX is only a matter of software upgrade/download to 3GEN RX and NOT be forced to have to buy a 4GEN RX for NAV feature improvements to be on par with compititors' NAV systems.

I have not heard much on these forums of Nav firmware upgrades...u are soo right, so much of this Nav is "dated", certainly not user friendly by todays standards. Its scary you can download free apps that have killer UI, and yet, Lexus has such kludgy UI...and none of this stuff is rocket science. Cut the advertising budget 5%, and put the money to making a better product, let us dedicated owners benefit from it, so we stay loyal vs. complaining. Lexus as a company remains distant from its loyal base. I notice this in the Lexus Loyalty program I was invited in, where they querry you to death about the car. Nothing for your time, and no feedback from them on making fixes. Just sucking their customers...
Before I got my 13RX was using a $5 a month Nav program, pc loads down to cell, or tablet, or car...blows away Lexus Nav. That IMO is sad reflection on Lexus. How hard is it to do everything on a pc and dump it down to the car in this day of modern technology? C'mon.... and you want $20 a month for such limited Nav ? i.e. e-destinations...

I've got a really simple solution for Lexus and Toyota and the rest.
Just give us an option of not buying your Nav system and stick to making cars, not entertainment systems.
Having a double-din opening to stick an aftermarket unit in would be just dandy. Then we could buy one with the latest tech whenever we please for the same cost you charge us just for the map updates.
