Default Changed my special order!

About a month ago i ordered a new RX450h f sport in celestial black metallic (stargazer to you guys) and recently just went into the local Lexus dealer to sort out a scraped bumper on my RX300 which i foolishly banged into a low wall without the sensors picking it up.

Well anyway, when I placed the order, the dealership had no f sport models and i placed an order for the celestial black f sport without seeing it. When i went in to get my RX300 done, the dealer miraculously had 3 all parked next to each other, a celestial black (stargazer), arctic pearl (starfire) and mercury grey (nebula). After seeing them all next to each other, i reconsidered and eventually changed the order to an arctic pearl f sport.

hopefully, itll be with me in a week as Lexus have specially put the car on a priority list . will post pics when i get it. cant wait!!

If you see a change of color made in Japan RX450 in a week you will have witnessed a miracle!!!

yh thats what i thought. Seems almost too good to be true. When you say swapped cars on the boat, what do you mean? swapped with someone elses?

Yes. That is not uncommon. I went car shopping with a friend for a Celica. She wanted a particular model, in a particular (girlie) color, with stick shift. Although not a common combination of specs, the dealer found one on a boat destined for another dealership, and the dealers did whatever it is they do, and the car was re-directed here. What could have taken a month or two, in some circumstances, took only two weeks.
My guess is that's called "swapping on the boat."

Probably another "dealer trade" for which they charge $100 passed on to customer! Hope the options are close enough for the customer; and a good thing Lexus does not have that many options and just ONE model. It is much harder when you have an S, an EX, an EXL and a SEL like some do!!

Yes to get one the is truly special order in a week would be like Notre Dame wining in January against Bama just will not happen. They are looking for the car from some other dealer they can trade for . I special order my 450h on September the 15th of 2010 the car was made in Japan on the 13 of October and was in Mobile on the 23 of November and we picked it up on the 27th of November. When I got my car the dealer told my that there were only than 2 others like in the United States at that time.

hmm, the combination of my car should be pretty common. White f sport with the ML system. So what do they do with the owner who's car it "actually" is? just wondering what the process is really.

Is that an f sport appearance package? I didn't think they made a true f sport 450h...that woyuld indeed be a SPECIAL order.

I thought we were making the hybrids here in Cambridge now ,not too difficult to make changes when the supply chain is so much shorter

Its an RX450h F SPORT. its not the appearance package. Im based in the UK and the RX450h is the only model we get over here. No RX350 here for us. We have only 4 packages to choose from. SE, LUXURY, F SPORT AND PREMIER.
