Default Removing the front license plate bracket - any experiences?

Hi All!

Will be picking up a 2010 RX450h shortly, and am wondering if anyone has had experiences with removing the front license plate frame? After seeing Jim's profile photos, I think the RX looks really good without an intrusive plate mount!

If anyone has removed theirs, do you recall how many holes were drilled into the bumper? Perhaps we can just plug the holes with a plastic cap of some sort from a hardware store...

My state is lax with the front plate, even though I think it's technically required...

Thanks!

I took delivery of my 450h without a front plate. They just gave me the attachment hardware to use if I decide to add the front plate. But, on my Subaru Outback there was a little communication problem and it came with the front bracket installed. I just removed it immediately. Just two small holes and no big deal on my darker Steel Silver Outback. I think the color of your RX will determine how noticeable the holes would be. On my Starfire Pearl 450h, I think they would have been much more noticeable.

I bought my RX used and it came with a front plate bracket but when I took it off it only had 2 holes. Then like 2 months later I got my custom vanity plates from the state and wanted to show those off so I put the bracket back on and the plate.

Go to www.bumperplugs.com and you can order plugs for the holes that held in the bracket, painted to match the car. I have them and they are excellent. While there, get the little plug that goes into the keyhole of the driver's door; very elegant. Highly recommended.
