Default New Lexus RES+ Smartphone app

I was looking at the Lexus Enform website and noticed that Lexus has a new feature for our smartphones called Lexus RES+. Basically it allows you to remotely start your engine, lock/unlock, and find your car. It is $65 a yr and you have to install the kit to your car. I'm curious to know how much the kit is to install in the car.

A discussion was started here, check it out. Just wish the smartphone application had a demo mode as do the competitors' like Drone and Viper.

Default iPad Showcase App for RES+

Not sure what you meant by "demo mode" but Lexus does offer a "showcase" application for the new RES+ system. Unfortunately it only runs on the iPad (not iPhone), but it's FREE and available from the iTunes store. I believe Lexus also made the app available for the Android phones in its app store.

From iTunes:

Take the Lexus RES+ application for a test drive on your iPad with the RES+ Showcase application. This interactive demonstration tool will familiarize you with all the features and benefits of the RES+ mobile application, and walk you through the entire RES+ experience. The RES+ Showcase application includes a detailed overview of the RES+ mobile application features, a tutorial of the registration process, an interactive description of all the application settings and a practice mode that simulates using the RES+ mobile application with a compatible Lexus vehicle.

Didn't see the "Showcase" application when I downloaded RES+.

"Demo mode" when an application that works to demonstrate basic functions of an application, but is crippled to prevent full operation until a valid password or serial number is entered.

Thanks for the info.

I'm looking into this for my Rxh because I already have basic RES...no response yet. I've asked the dealer Tech Specialist if my existing RES hardware works with the new SmartPhone app. I'm going to be not happy if they say NO!

I wouldn't think your RES basic would work with the smartphone application without the cell service module in your car. That module that makes RES RES+

David, that is obviously not the answer I wan to hear! If true, you can bet I'll be pushing the dealership to swap out the RES I have for the upgraded one.

I just got a quote from my dealer in Houston: $1269 (+ tax, no doubt) plus the $65 annual subscription. If you already have RES, too bad. The existing RES hardware is not compatible with RES+ so you are basically purchasing it again. RES+ is available only on 2013 Rx, both 350 and 450h.

I just purchased one of these for my RX350. We'll see how well it works. It cost about $359 just to have Lexus install it.

PLEASE let us know how you are liking it! And if possible could you please post a few pics of the antenna that are on the windshield for unit. Are the distracting or in your way?

THANKS

OK, I think I uploaded this correctly. One big complaint so far, Is that When you remote start and the engine is running, anytime you either unlock the door, or touch the break the engine shuts off. It doesn't allow you to switch over to run/drive mode you have to restart the engine via the brake and the button.

Had RES+ for 6 months, finally got dealer to remove it for full refund... The problem was with LExus servers... dreadful IMO. The product was not ready for prime time. there is a few other threads on this issue, where others too asked for a full refund. Lexus admits the problem, yet, seems never to fix it. U may also want to try it out with one installed in another vehicle...the number of codes u must enter, and the complexity of the codes makes the system so cumbersome for remote start... when the servers are working correctly, of course. I will be investigating Viper next...

I've not had that bad of an experience. Yes you have to re-login after 10 minutes. And yes it's a little slow. But all and all, I didn't think it was all that bad.
