Anyone interested in rear seats that fold flat?
Anyone interested in rear seats that fold genuinely flat, by allowing the rear seat base to flip forwards into the leg space behind the front seats?
Apparently the LandCruisers already do this.
So too the ML and the X5 etc.
I wonder why Lexus doesn't allow the RX's rear seats to fold completely flat? They want the luxury of having a fixed rear seat base fox maximum quality?
Note how the Benz ML folds completely flat, by flipping the rear seat base forwards?
Note that the ML's space between the rear wheel arches seems to be compromised?

I mean completely flat - zero degrees. Or is there a slight 10 degree slope in the horizontal back rest?
I thought the RX's rear seats fold down, but not completely flat, but a slight tilt angle.
Does your rear seat base flip forwards into the rear leg room area behind the front seats like the Benz ML and the Beamer X5?

Peter, I'm not sure where you get your info, I know you're more familiar with the GS. The electronic brochure is easy to get, you can go here and down load one. http://www.lexus.com/models/brochures/rx_brochure.html

This is what I mean by the RX rear seats not folding perfectly flat below.
Notice how the back of the rear seats are on a slight incline like VVRX mentioned.
I wished it folded perfectly flat like ML and X5, to increase the floor's ability to carry large cargo, so that it can sit flat on the floor...

Couple of questions:
Does the way the Benz seats folding forward 1) reduce the length of the storage area, 2) reduce the amount the front seats can move backward?
A bit of a personal question, An example of what you carry that must be on a level or flat surface?
Notice how the center section of the RX can be laid flat and still keep two seats upright. Handy for loading long articles, such as a "tailgating" tent.
It should be noted the RX photo may not be 100% correct, at least in mine. There is a little hump where the back flat area meets the joint of the seat. Which, again in my case, is exaggerated due to the WeatherTech mat I have in the back. The WeatherTech has a lip all the way around to keep the spilled liquids or melting snow or whatever from going all over the car.
