Default Ipod Nano 6th Generation

On my 2010 RX450h with NAV system, I decided to change from having my music on a USB drive to having my music on an IPOD. So I bought an Ipod Nano 6th Generation.

When I plug it in, I get the following display on the NAV screen: "Cannot read from USB device or iPod.".

I have reset my IPOD and put just a single 128K bps song on it with a single playlist. My wife's Ipod Nano 6th Generation behaves the same way.

Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone else gotten a 6th Generation Ipod Nano to work?

Thanks,
Cliff

I've found more information since I last posted.

If I sync the Ipod with Itunes, the Lexus plays the music fine.

If I sync the Ipod with MediaMonkey, the problem happens. Even if I add a single song with MediaMonkey, the Lexus no longer plays the music.

Is anyone else using MediaMonkey?

I'm using the 6th gen Nano with my RX. Syncing with iTunes and it works fine. No problem at all.

Only use Itunes. Also if you don't use the Bluetooth connection and connect with the cable always use the Apple cable.

I used to use MediaMonkey, but I was having issues with playing music from my iPod on certain devices so I use iTunes now.

Default iPod Shuffle 4th Generation

I recently bought an iPod Shuffle 4th generation to use in my Lexus. The Shuffle is listed as not compatible. Any work arounds? I've synched it with iTunes but no go.
