Default auto highbeam headlights

I was wondering if someone can tell me if the auto highbeam headlights will come on even if you have the fog lights on? In other words, if you have your low beams on, along with your fog lights, will the auto highbeam headlights activate and turn on the highbeams and also turn off the fog lights?

We've driven the car a few times at night but I guess it hasn't been "alone" on the road where it didn't sense other cars, etc where the auto highbeam headlights turned on so I'm wondering if it actually because it sensed other cars or because we're driving with our fog lights on?

The auto high beams are failry sensitive so even some reflecting road signs, dusk to dawn lights, or any other lightsource the sensor can pick up can cause them not to come on. I find I need to be in a fairly secluded and dark area for them to activate. But when they do and go on high the foglights will go off.

Thanks for the info. Maybe if we have some time this weekend, we'll drive around the lake close by our neighborhood since there aren't many cars ont he road and many lights and see what happens.

Code:
High beam automatic turning on or off conditions
When all of the following conditions are fulfilled, high beam will be
automatically turned on (after approximately 1 second):
l Vehicle speed is above approximately 20 mph (32 km/h).
l The area ahead of the vehicle is dark.
l There are no oncoming or preceding vehicles with headlights or
tail lights turned on.
If any of the following conditions are fulfilled, high beam will be automatically
turned off:
l Vehicle speed drops below approximately 20 mph (32 km/h).
l The area ahead of the vehicle is not dark.
l Oncoming or preceding vehicles have headlights or tail lights
turned on.

The system works perfectly. The systems of 50s and 60s were just a photo cell. The Lexus system uses a camera type sensor and real data processing. I do wish the lights were brighter.

I am assuming you don't have the HID's, correct? Mine are quite bright.

And just in case anyone wonders about the 20mph thing quoted above the system assumes you are driving in a potential residential area or perhaps your driveway (or someone elses) where high beams are not warranted and can just be plain annoying. At least that is what my SA told me and it makes sense.

I have HID lights. They are good, my BMW lights are much brighter by comparison.
