Default Switching 2012 headlights for 2013

Can it be done? I just spoke w/ my Lexus dealer, only one in town, they said no one is willing to as it will void the warranty due to wiring changes etc etc etc. BS?

We dont even know when the 2013s will be here, so doubtful that you will get any response, much less an accurate one from the dealer.

I'm still waiting to see when I can order a 2013 and they dont know.

But the '13 isn't even here yet. I'm sure MEP can give it a try though

as other's have already mentioned, it's not even OUT yet.. and where in the world are you going to get the "parts" to replace your 2012? Sewell?
Seriously, anyone who will tell you that it can or CANNOT be done at this time is pulling your leg.

Anything can be done, but the car is not even out yet, so no one knows how difficult it will be.
It's a matter of how much fabrication need. I'm almost sure it won't be a simple swap.

Good to know. I'm assuming since it's almost out they must be able to order parts. I'll wait I suppose. Loving that LED DRL!

I was wondering the same thing. I would love to swap them out too.

Just upgrade to the 2013, so you don't have to swap out the grill and bumper to match the new headlights

From what I see, I think they can be swapped out. Would have taken more engineering to change the shape and mounting of the lights. There might be some different connectors on the cable ends but maybe not. The cost is just going to be prohibitive, those HID's are not cheap. I am going to be investigating though.

I don't like the new look of the 2013 model, however, those headlights are NICE! From pictures comparison, it doesn't look much more than just a simple swap or so I hope.

Initially, I thought replacing the lights might be cool. But, are a few little irritating LED's really going to be worth the effort? I don't think that the LED driving lights really made the IS look more attractive. They look harsh to me. The same will probably be true of the RX. I think the current setup may be a nicer solution for other drivers on the road ... more controlled and less irritating lighting. I may change my mind after the 2013's come out, but I feel the current front-end and lighting setup is nicer.

I'm looking forward to this too. Lexus just updated the 2013 RX onto the official website.
