Default LED changeover (almost) done...

I went through all the posts I could find here on replacing the bulbs on the 450h to LEDs (thanks to all who posted!). I have completed the interior changeover (except for the cargo area since the LEDs I ordered are on back order). I have also completed the puddle lights and the parking lights. I have new LED DRLs on order.

I went with the 6k color since I have a black/black 450h. Personally I really like the more refined look than the standard incandescent bulbs.

The hardest swap was the puddle lights due to having to disassemble the mirrors, but following the post found here made it pretty easy once past the initial worry or cracking open the housing.

I did not post pics because it looks mostly the same as everyone else's pics who have done the changeover...

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who laid out the trail before me... I really like the new look!

It really does make a difference. The mirrors are not hard once you do one, but I agree they do intimidate you at first. Congrats on getting it done. This is the cheapest and easiest mod to make and it really does make the most striking difference for the dollar.

Cool that you got the changes, and oh, talk is cheap without pics.

Yeah, we never have enough pics and information so please post pics along with notes of bulb types and where you bought them.

Thanks.

I agree, the more pictures we see the merrier we are

Great choice going with V-LEDS. I've only had one bulb die on me so far. I'm not sure about the LED DRL. You lose high beams. And the fog lights are H11. The 6K are on backorder too.

Supposedly the 5K are fine and they are available.

Kitlz, Those are exactly the ones I have for fog Lights in mine. They match the low beams great and put off a fair bit of light. I was happy with them.

I have the Xenon HIDs on my 450h so the high beams are from them. I won't be losing the highs by using the LED DRLs.

These are the DRLs (not H11s) http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED-B...-p7652845.html

Any error codes from converting your DRLs to LEDs? Is a resistor required for install?

As I mentioned in the first post, the DRLs are on backorder so I have not installed them yet.

I have V-LED's for my DRL's... no error code, no resistor required, no DRL module required...nothing. Does not flicker and looks like it is full brightness.

Can you post a picture of your lights. Those of us with LED headlights have halogen highbeams and they are used as the DRL's at reduced power.

I have OEM HID's and my halogen DRL's operate that same way. I will try to take pics later today.

One of them only ligths up *some* of the LEDs...

Ugh, now I have to wait for a new bulb to be delivered.
