The volume in my 2010 RX450h varies tremendously between FM/AM and Satellite/XM. Everytime I switch from FM/AM, I have to turn the volume way up on XM, and vice versa. I've tried the volume stabilizer option (or whatever it's called) both ON and OFF, but no change. Anyone else have this concern??? Any fix???

 

Yes - it's a massive oversight on the part of the idiot who wrote the firmware for the sound system, especially since it does remember the tone settings for each source. I've mentioned it to my SA and the head tech - there's nothing they can do about it. At the very least, mention it to Lexus, and hope that they eventually update the firmware if enough people complain.

 

I have the same issue but my ES does not. Why can't they fix in in the RX?

 

i think you're referring to the ASL ( Automatic Sound Levelizer).
Unfortunately, unless there's a new firmware update we're stuck in this situation.
and this also happens when you change it the USB/ipod mode

 

No problem on mine (RX 450h 2010) France version. Switching from FM/AM/CD/DVD/USB/HDD does not change the volume of the sound (same level) unless FM/AM is not of good reception quality which happens significantly in France due to poor network and impossibility to have a satellite system as you have in N.A., just because the biggest radio's are reluctant to develop this... do not want / like competition ...

 

my 450 w/ nav remembers separate volume levels for different sources (at least radio vs. USB/Bluetooth).

 

Same issue on mine. I need to drop back the volume 5 clicks moving from sat to FM.
