What do you mean by "it won't turn to it"? Two things, if you don't subscribe to XM the only channel you can get is channel 1 which is just a channel with a mix of music and mostly ads for subscribing. The second is if you don't select XM on your radio you won't see it unless it is in your music channel list for AM and FM stations. If the latter is your issue just over write those channels with AM of FM stations.

You may also want to reorder the way they are ordered in source selection ... this way it will only show up last when changing source from the steering wheel button

Guess it depends on what year NX you have. I don't see "Reorder" on my vehicle.

mine is a 2018... I would suggest that you look it up in your own owner’s book to find the specific for your model and year

Mine is a '16 and I have searched the PDF of my owners manual using the find command for "Reorder" and it apparently must be something on newer Lexus models.

Answer to the OP question is no. You will always have each of the Modes AM & FM & XM
whether you are tuned into a station or not. AM will play static, FM might be silent and XM
will just remind you to sign up.

As @mcomer has stated above the answer is no. Do you subscribe to Slacker or Pandora, use an iPod or USB?

On my 2011 sienna, I unplugged the xm antenna. I also like to scroll through my sources on the steering wheel so it skips through the xm.

I haven't done it on the NX to see if it skips through it.
