If I were you I would check out E-Bay. I have seen this filter priced as low as 6.50 each with shipping included.
Thanks for the tip. I looked at eBay and I calculated that the total was about the same if I went with Sewell or eBay as I need to get both air and cabin filter for my RX.

Default Air flow

Air flow is from the top to the bottom (outside air to fan intake). There is no housing on my 2011 450. On my OEM filter the bottom of the filer (fan side has what looks like fine dryer lint on it and the top side (air inlet) does not.

Mine went from White to complete gray/ black and mold except for parts on the sides. It's disgusting.

Default RX 350 Filters(air)

Amazon.com has good prices on some automotive products. Activated charcoal CAFs are available for the RX also.

As I did this myself today I thought I'd make the correction here. According to the 'Do it yourself' section in the main manual, the arrow on the filter should point 'up'.

Had I not read it I would have assumed as you did and the flow should be down. That's correct but you can make out a cone shaped venturi just above a fan just below the filter after you remove it. But evidently it's pulling the air down as I had 'moths' on top of the filter as well.
So the arrow parts to the top as that's the supply side of the filter.

However, the Purolator C35667 cabin filter I used ( it fit fine) has a printed arrow and a label of "Air Flow" as its marking. Given that the debris on the old filter was on the top of the removed filter (as it was pulled out), I assumed the Air Flow is from Top to Bottom - hence the new Filter would be installed with the Arrow DOWN, to match the airflow in the housing. Aside from being confusing, does anyone see a problem with this?

I take it that Sewell is the best place to buy the OEM filters from with our CL discount?

It's ok but by the time they charge freight it's kinda expensive. I just drove to my local Advance Auto Parts and bought their top line version for $20 bucks and installed it right their in the parking lot to make sure I had the right one. 5 minutes later I was driving down the road. Clean, simple, & cheap . Ahh, the fresh air .

I've purchased the OEM filter from a Toyota dealer to avoid Sewell's shipping charges unless I have a few things order from them. Same with the wiper blade refills.

Changed it for the first time today. It was surprisingly easy to do. Took more time emptying and putting back all the junk my wife keeps in the glove box. Much easier then our old RAV 4. On the RAV you had to remove the whole glove box to access the filter.
I used the WIix filter (#24483). At 19K it was really dirty. Went ahead and changed out the engine air filter also. It was also pretty dirty. Of course we did just get back from West Texas Big Bend area. Lots of sand and dust out there.

I changed the cabin filter today too. It was looking pretty sad. Pollen has been off the chart for weeks. I used the the same Wix filter as TomT127. I like it because It has more pleats than Toyota. Can't beat the price either, $11.

Careful, more pleats could restrict air flow then Toyota's

GRPFAN, over the past year I've switched between OEM and Wix with no effect on air flow. Earlier in this thread when I mentioned the extra pleats on the Wix I had just installed, you said 'it should work fine.' Others have used Wix with no problems either. With pollen off the charts and the AC being used more often, I wanted something a bit more substantial than the OEM filter.

Would I be able to use a Wix filter on a 2012 RX 350? What would you guys recommend? And what about engine oil? What should I use?

Yes, you are able to use a WIX filter on your '12 RX350. I recommend you use the oil that's printed on the oil filler cap. Probably synthetic 0W20.

I read in here that you need to switch to the ReCirc mode but then how to remove the shelves in the glove compartment? I almost broke it another the day but still can't take it apart.

Please help. Thanks.
I get most of my instructional videos on Youtube.
