Default Aftermarket Parking Sensor

Anyone installed any aftermarket parking sensor on your RX350? If you do, would you share the brand and pics of the sensor you installed? Thanks in advance.

you can do it yourself to install the oem Intuitive parking assist. If you trust, i can help you buy all the parts and tell you how to install, they are pretty easy.

Simple answer is, "Don't do it". None of them are integrated into the Lexus' operating system and are crude in appearance and function. Too many horror stories about aftermarket systems that are just junk.

yes, only the oem one can do it. I did it few mouth ago, for most NA model, the intuitive parking assist was pre-wired, so just need to order the parts.

Has anyone been able to successfully install the OEM parking sensor/assist system into their non-parking assist RX350? Does this work on non-Navi RX?

164287356, Could you tell me what parts I need to buy for this to work?

+1

This is over a year old. I hope someone can chime in who has done the upgrade. I'd be willing to throw a few hundred at this upgrade if it's the full OEM system.

msrp is 500 on new car options. I assume it will cost more and won't work as nice as factory installed system.

I'm hoping cost for sensor and whatever module comes with, will be much less than that.

I wouldn't even mind if it did not integrate into the sound system. I'm just looking for OEM type parking assist. At the very least, if someone can give some good quality aftermarket options, it would help as well.

ca92129 - The discussion has turned into adding the intuitive park assist, not some aftermarket system. It would have to work as factory installed or I will not do it. Sounds like 164287356 installed the OEM system after the fact.

Honestly, for the cost, this should be a standard feature on a $45K+ vehicle.

Agreed. It's even more unfortunate in Canada, it's not available on the F-Sport (@ $58K) and only available in the the pricey $14K+ Ultra Premium packages on the 350 or 450h.

The prices of OEM parts from park places lexus are not cheap:

http://www.parkplacelexusparts.com/p...w=11&maxRow=10

Cost for parking assist module is over $700, sensor is close to 200. Labor would be additional 2-300.

Aftermaket kit is available too, way cheaper at 200 for all parts

Good luck.

I have the system. I can tell you it is virtually useless, just learn how to drive and save yourself the hassle

I had aftermarket sensors installed in Q5-$300, and the sensors were painted int the color of the car.
The sensor module connects to back-up light for a signal, and then needs only 12V.
Different system are available-2front+4 rear sensors, only 4 rear, w/ or w/o display...
The sensors do not integrate in car's elecrtronics, so very difficult to mess up something.
