Default New Keyless fob for RX

Hi, Guys, not too long ago I lost one of the keyless fobs for my RX 350 (2011). After inquiring at the dealer and finding the fee of $350 to be a shocker, I went on ebay and bought a used fob from a vender who refurbishes it and sends it with an un cut key. Now I am finding that the dealer won't send the key out to have it cut and they are even giving me a hard time about programming it should I get the key cut elsewhere. Any Ideas or am I screwed?

Certain locksmiths will also program it for you. They just have to have the equipment and the know how.

I am sorry to hear that. Those dealers are greedy axxholes who care about reaching their hands into your pocket for cash only. Maybe visit another dealership and/or the worst case, call lexus NA and see what they have to say about it. Back in 2004 I had brake noise issue with my acura tsx and dealers around my town refused to really fix that for me so I wrote a complaint letter to Acura/Honda canada, a few weeks later a lady called and told me to bring my car back to the dealer where I bought my car and this time they replaced the whole brake system and the noise was finally gone. That was nearly 2 years after I bought the car and I should have thought about calling their head company office earlier.

$350 sounds about right. The job doesn't take long to program the key, it's probably expensive equipment that is used for programming. And as usual, Lexus charge quite a bit for any kind of labour, even for oil changes. =)

Maybe you can shop around, call up a few dealers and bring your car to the lowest priced dealer. Good luck!
