Both of those links are very good. Even having been in the car business as long as I was I couldn't explain it as well as the links did.
Our semi-aniline isn't the top rated but much better than the standard stuff you'll find most car companies using.
I have the light beige semi-aniline with almost 28000 miles. I keep it parked in the garage with the windows always up and for maintenance just give a casual glance when I'm washing it to see if something needs to be cleaned. It still smells new inside and looks it too. And I wear jeans or shorts 95% of the time I'm in it. No wear at all.
I do need to clean my seat belt tho, I noticed just the other day some dirty looking area around the buckle where my hand catches it. But that's probably from a couple of thousand grabs at least with a sweaty hand.

Some definitions of semi-aniline leather.

just look at all of this and see what product will work for you here on the Gulf coast I can use Lexol cleaner/ conditioner. But start from the last page and work you way back to the front. I am sure you can find somthing that works were you are and lots of Lexus owners are using it.

I have a 2014 GX with the simi-aniline and a 2010 RX with regular leather.
The reg leather wrinkles almost immediately but the aniline is soft and smooth after several months.
Well worth the upgrade.
