Unhappy OEM Air suspension replacement struts

I own a 2004 Lexus Rx330 with the performance package including air suspension struts. I have been searching numerous online sites and cannot find replacement struts for my AWD vehicle. I also spoke to my "old" hometown service attendant and he advised me that replacement shocks would cost approximately $1500.00 each to replace. I nearly fell over in shock! Does anyone know whether I can find replacement shocks or do I need to rebuild the existing ones? And if so, what site should I go to to find out pricing for these "rare" babies....

Bob,

Yowzas! Did they really want to charge $1,500 for the shocks? That's a king's ransom for just the shock absorbers themselves

I'm almost positive that some site sells these exotic shocks. First, try searching for them on lexuspartseast.com. They typically have a large inventory of OEM parts sold at a nice discount from the stealership's prices. If they don't have them then I would scour eBay for the elusive shocks in hopes of finding a set of cheap OEM units.

I'll try to rack my brain for other sources for these shocks, but start at the two sources that I mentioned and we'll go from there

Tech,
Thanks for the info to help my search. I will look in both areas that you suggested. And, yes, the attendant told me that the rear two cost a tad less than $1500 each, and the front two were at the $1500 each mark. Won't be going there again, although they were superb at performing all other tasks associated with my vehicles, and not pricey either. Is there a rebuild kit for these shocks, just in case I can't find any complete ones?

whoa! 04rx on air? Never knew that. But you can check Lexus of Pembroke Pines parts
for the struts. they're still $768each though. Perhaps you should find out if converting to regular struts would make any financial sense.

no kidding, $1500 is a bargain compare to Mercedes or BMW.

air shock on RX was limited run and few hence no replacement parts. might get more/better response if this was posted on Gen2 page.
