Default White wax residue

Any suggestions ... how to remove the white wax residue from black trim. This is the first vehicle (2011 RX350) that I have had with this problem. The most difficult areas are the windshield trim and the rear bumper step. Thanks

I would use something non metallic, like a guitar pick or even a toothpick, to scrape it off. I like using a toothpick in small/tight areas.

I use a toothbrush for those areas. I also use Zaino products since they do not leave a white residual even on the black plastic.

Toothbrush. That's what a detailer told me a long time ago. I use the free ones my dentist gives me

I suggest that you post on the Lexus Automotive Care and Detailing forum. I am positive that you will get all the help you require. They are great over there and have several professional detailers as well. Good luck.

Default White Wax Residue

Thanks guys. I think the Lexus Auto Care & Detailing is most likely the best path. I have tried the other suggestions. Zaino products are great, but I tried Meguiars for my first wax on this vehicle. I will be out of town for a month, but will update when I return. Thanks again.

Try a pink art eraser.

In lue of that, try a pencil eraser.

There are a number of clear waxes that leave no white residue. Turtle Wax is one of the ones that you might try. Other than that I would try the toothbrush with a bit of a cleaning solvent or varsol to get rid of the old wax on the black trim. Wipe off any excess solvent or varsol. I will sometimes use a tire treatment on the black splash guards or any other black plastic and it makes them look like new again.
Cheers,
Jim

The guys on a Volvo forum use peanut oil. I personally have never tried it.
