OK, I have read the GPS antenna is located next to the front speaker.

So to confirm this I put aluminum foil over the dashboard. I still had the GPS icon. Covered the shark fin and the mirror area top of windshield.

Are they using multiple antennas?

Anyone know for sure where the GPS antenna is?

 

I was told by the salesman that the antennas are built in to the rear spoiler. I really never looked into which ones.

 

rear spoiler is FM antennae but I think the GPS antennae is right in front of the windshield.

why do you want to know?

 

I have spent the last couple of days making my own bypass. It works most of the time, but when the nav does not see the normal speed sensor, I think it reverts to another source like sat info. Like mode one you describe.

My mod is a DPDT switch and a resistor.
