Default key fob battery replacement

can someone tell me how to replace battery in the key fob. I have looked at it and cannot see how to open it. I am sure the service dept would love to do it for me.

Take the key out of the fob You'll see a little indent in the corner. Use a coin to insert into the indent and twist. It should pop open.

Factory remote start will use more battery power.
I'm going to change mine every year.
I'm do in April.

I'd highly recommend changing the fob battery at one year if your RX has remote start. Mine has longer range now.

My jeep grand cherokee key fob has the original battery for the last 10 years. Both of them.

I'm sure your Jeep GC didn't have a smart key or the keyless push button start - these are battery eaters. Both my 2IS & 3GS fob batteries had to be replaced at apprx 18 mos - small price to pay for the privilege of never having to take the fob out of my pocket to lock/unlock the car or start the engine . . .
