My Mom was driving along the highway when she saw the tire pressure light on, she had 5 more miles to go so decided just to keep on driving . All of a sudden she started hearing loud road noise and had to pull over.

The Damage, the rim is fine luckily.

And a Warning for all: if you see the TPMS light

turn on while you are driving I would recommend pulling to the side and checking it out. The TPMS system on the RX350 does not have an alarm for really low tire pressure, the light will turn on and that is all it will do. Saftey first!

Have a good holiday!

x2, that rim held up pretty good. I'm surprised the rim isn't damaged at all.

Did you drove more than 1.2 million miles in about 20 years? Where do you drive?

I've been driving for about 25 years. Some of the miles are put on by my wife. Not too many though, about 300 miles a month only for her. I go to Michigan every month (about 1200 miles roundtrip), and every other month I go to Michigan and Chicago (about 2200 miles roundtrip). You can say I'm crazy to want to spend that much time in my cars, but what can I say, I sure to love my Japanese vehicles...hahah

I've owned many more vehicles than in my signature but I only put a few in the signature because well there's a character limit...lol
But the car's I put there are few of the best car's I've owned.

Funny you should post this...the warning light on my RX350 went off 3x the past month. I kept inspecting them, and filling them. I identified which one was regularly going low, and took it to a tire shop yesterday.

The rear tire on the driver's side had a nail in it. Plugged and fixed for the Thanksgiving road trip....

Happily, no tire explosion for me!

same thing happened to me with my 450h 2 months ago, noticed one tire had a slow leak due to small nail. took my car into the dealer, and they fixed it at no charge. that made my day!

Who's Your Dealer?

If I may be so presumptuous to ask, "who's your dealer?"

"Lexus tire protection have it cover 70% of the cost" How did you get this ? and how much extra did they charge for it?

I picked up a screw in the right rear and didn't notice the TPMS light. I kept right on going at 70mph. Something didn't feel right, I looked in the rear view mirror and clouds of smoke were pouring from the rear. Man was that tire ruined. The wheel itself was so hot you couldn't touch it. For the last year that rear wheel makes a light whining sound. Lexus says they couldn't duplicate the whining problem. I suspect a wheel bearing, but I hate to put out the money if I don't know for sure that will fix the problem.

2010 RX come with 1st year free Nitrogen gas protection (Canada), which included road hazard coverage, flat tire repair and stuff. I believe you can get extent protection on it. I probably gonna ask when it is close to my one year time frame.

In my experience, at least in the US, there is no such protection for 1 year on our cars. it is solely available for purchase.

the 70% comes from how much wear you have left at the time of accident.

That is what I thought there is no road hazard coverage here unless you pay for it. On my 2010 Camry it was $250 for tires and wheels.
