If all lights came on at the same time, start by fixing the Check Engine light , because when you fix it, the AWD and traction lights will most likely go away too.

Start by checking the battery and the terminals, they must be clean and tight.

Checked battery and alternator is charging. I believe it was 12.5 engine off and 13.9 with car running. Brand new battery from last Winter. Terminals are pristine.

That's the thing. I don't really know where to start the p0138 and p0607 point towards the o2 sensor ( Any links to DIY replacement for Bank 1 S2 for our model year???). BUT I've never seen a post when they have these codes together with the other codes I got. So the o2 sensor might be fine and it could be an electrical issue or something else caused by the rainfall yesterday.

With that many codes it sounds like something shorted from the moisture. Did it just rain on the car or was it driven through water? That might help localize the area affected. What does live data show regarding fuel trims and o2 sensor voltages/patterns? Having techstream could help as well looking at different modules individually.

Default "Check AWD" Warning Light just lit on my 2012

The "Check AWD: warning light just came on, and the TRAC is off..... My 2012 RX350 has 40K miles, and I've owned it since it had 21K miles in 2015, never had it serviced since 2015 except for oil changes. Car seems to running fine, but I'm not planning to ignore this warning light. However, I don't know what cost involved in just "checking.." Only thing I just did to troubleshoot was tighten the gas cap, to erase that variable. Cost sensitive, should I take it to AutoZone for a P Code check...or to service station guy who knows Lexuses....how urgent is this? Thanks for all your prompt responses!

Pulling the OBDII codes (if any) is always a good first step. Some of the big box store chains around here still do that for free (Autozone, Advance Auto, etc.).

You may just have a weak battery. Go to the local repair shop that handles Toyota and Lexus for diagnosis. Or AutoZone etc to have your battery checked.

W.r.t. pulling the OBDII codes, those with a Nav system have the ability to access the hidden menu IIRC, and this hidden menu shows a logger with OBDII codes logged and the time they were logged. Maybe those who needs to see which codes are triggered could go to the hidden nav menu, if they have the nav system

To access hidden nav menu on 3rd gen RX, I believe you hold down the Menu button, and toggle the headlights from the first to the second to the first to the second to the first to the second and the hidden menu with the white background should appear.

Default “Check AWD System” and “Trac Off” issue, Limp Mode, this is how I solved

Got in my 2013 RX350 this morning to start, hear the clicking sound indicating an almost dead battery along with Christmas lights all over my dash board and my BSM lights on my mirrors are even blinking! Jump started the car and suddenly “Check AWD” and “Trac Off” warnings are flashing, the Check engine light is on, and so is the yellow triangle light with the exclamation mark. The car is now somehow in “limp mode”, meaning I can’t bring the RPMs over 1800 when parked and when I place it in drive, all I can do is “idle crawl” at about 5-10 mph. It’s Sunday, so no dealership phone call and I’m ready to just have the thing towed first thing Monday morning. But I know how to replace a battery and I since I already know the battery is dead I decided to start with that and see if I can make progress before handing it over to the dealership...

Bought a new battery, installed it and the car started right up but it was still in “limp mode” and the above warning lights were still on. Dang it. I’m wondering what the diagnostic code is but I can’t take this thing down the road at 5-10 mph and I don’t have an OBD code reader. I go online and start googling and find a video that shows another RX with same problem. That car was also previously jump-started and he found the code P2118 which is the Throttle Actuator Control Motor Current Range/Performance code. He shows where the 10 amp ETCS fuse is located in the engine compartment, replaces it, and all is good. I run out to my car, pull the same fuse and BAM, it too is blown.

I replace said fuse and my car seems to run fine (can bring up the RPMs and no more limp mode!) but all the warning notifications and lights are still on. I drive it to the auto parts store, they confirm the same P2118 code in my history, reset the check engine light, and I start up the car and drive home. All lights stay off, and the car is running as it should! I’m guessing either the bad battery or the jump-start caused that fuse to blow. Obviously if the fuse continued to blow I would have had a much different problem. Here is the link to the video:

Thanks for the information, it's very useful to the community.

Jump-starting newer cars is a bad idea, it can cause problems just like what happened to you.

Also, jump starting other cars with yours can cause serious damage.

Default Help with all dash lights coming on

My 2011 RX is occasionally having a problem. The car starts, but many of the dash lights come on and it cycles through messages like ABS malfunction, brake malfunction, power steering malfunction, check AWD system. I can't remember all the lights and the messages because I haven't been able to catch video of it. Also, the steering wheel locks and the gear shift locks.

When I turn the vehicle off and restart it, it is fine except for one time. Nothing would unlock so I had to have it towed to my local mechanic. By the time it got there, it was working fine. He checked the codes and nothing came up. They couldn't recreate the issue the entire day so he couldn't help me.

After waiting several weeks for an appointment, I was able to get it into the dealer. They checked the alternator power and said it was low so I needed a new alternator. I took it to my mechanic and had the alternator replaced at a cost of $1,000. Within a few days it was doing the same thing. Last night, it did it, but once it cycled through everything the steering wheel and gear shift unlocked and all of the lights turned off except for the check AWD message and the yellow triangle light on the dash. I turned it off and turned it back on and everything was fine. I couldn't recreate the issue.

I took it to AutoZone. They checked the new alternator and said that it was low. My mechanic said to bring it back in so he could check what was going on, but he said if the alternator is fine and the problem can't be recreated while it's there, he can't help me any further.

Since the dealer said it was the alternator and I now spent $1,000 to replace that, which doesn't seem to be the issue, I'm reluctant to take it back to that dealer. There is another dealer in the area but they can't get me in until the end of November.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on? I don't want to keep throwing money at expensive fixes that aren't going to fix the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

How old is your battery? Dying batteries are infamous for throwing all sorts of spurious codes and warnings before they finally give up the ghost.

They checked the battery and said it was fine, but I wondered if I should try changing it. I don't recall when I had it changed last.

Look on the side or top of the battery for a sticker showing its production date. For instance, a battery built in October 2015 would show up as 10/15.
