Configuration Menu ( How To Adjust Bt Microphone Volume )
People say they can barely hear me when I use the incar bluetooth microphone to talk, so I searched the forum to see if there's a way to adjust the volume.
Apparently, there's an easy way to do it for 2nd gen (by turning the key to on position while pressing down the "info" button. A "configuration menu" will show up on your screen allowing you to adjust the bluetooth mic volume).
I was at the dealer today for the bumper gap TSB service and I asked the consultant and he simply said
"there's no way to do it for 3rd gen RX".
Is this true?
Has anyone figured out a "hack" to get to some secret config menu?
Thank you!

I agree, it always sounds like the caller in the RX is far away. Very disappointing, even more so since it isn't a user adjustable setting. Does anyone know where the microphone is physically located?

No, I don't play soccer!
The mike is the vent looking things by the light controls in the overhead console. I haven't had problems with mine but if I did, I'd be the squeakiest wheel with the dealer and accept nothing less than an adjustment or replacement made at no charge.
That remark from the consultant saying 'there's no way to do it in the 3rd gen RX' is BS. Sounds like someone didn't want to do their job. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm also looking on how to access the "secret" configuration menu for the navigation. Somebody needs to figure it out soon!
Talking to somebody via Bluetooth the other day, the driver's volume was very low - could barely hear them.
Also, it would be nice to enable the nav to add an address while you're driving.

For accessing the hidden menu in the RX, all you need to do is to hold the menu button on the remote touch and turn off and on the headlight three times. Make sure it's off not auto.
Add an address, just call destination assist.

wyau01 - Yes, holding the menu button while turning on/off the headlights worked. I was able to access the service menu. There was one option called receive volume and I cranked that up to level 5. Here's hoping that will fix the blue-tooth volume issue.<crossing fingers>... Now, if there was only a way to enable all the navigation menu buttons while the car is in motion...

I also adjusted the volumne level to 5 and hope this helps but it sounds like that is for the incoming volumn. Has anyone had time to check and see if this has helped yet?? When I asked the dealer about this some time ago they told me there is an adjustment but only increases at most by 10% and they have to do it at the dealer.
Thanks

OK, was at the dealer today discussing my order for a 2011 RX450h and found out there is a new TSB on the mic problems while using Bluetooth. They will order a new improved radio which has been changed to take care of the low volumn issues. They ordered mine today for my RX350.

hey currybob, did you just come into a lot of money? I see you have a 2010 RX350 and a 2010 IS250. Would you be trading in the RX for the 2011 RX450h or just picking another one up? Just curious, no ill will. -=)
