I'm having a few unexpected problems using my new iPhone 4 with my RX350. Half the time, it forgets to pair with the sound system and I have to go through the whole process of pairing it, syncing contacts, etc.

My iPhone 3GS worked consistently (except for the annoying audio omissions like FF, REW over bluetooth).

Just interested in anyone else's experiences with this new model.

 

Just got mine, tunes work fine. Phone connects every time with no problems.

On the 4Runner forums some had to reconnect a few times before it "took"

Could you walk me the steps on adding my contact list?

My iPhone 4 paired up fine with my RX, but the only issue I'm having so far is playing audio over BT.

 

I just went out and paired my iphone 4 with my neighbors RX450H, it works fine. Although i only did test it for 2 mins.

 

Found the contact info in the nav OM.

Worked great!

 

Now my phone is working fine. I just can' t get bluetooth audio to work too. If I pair the phone part of the my iPhone, the vehicle can't see the audio part. I have to actually delete (unpair) the phone to get the bluetooth audio to work. Of course, when I do that the phone won't work anymore. Grrrr....

 

ok...I'm not the only one with this issue. I thought I was doing something wrong. If someone has a resolution please let us know.

 

In addition to the bluetooth AUDIO issue, my phone has refused to pair (automatically or otherwise) to the car on three separate occasions. Each time, the only way to get the phone recognized is to turn the car off and back on again.

And I still can't get bluetooth audio to work.

Frustrating...

 

Had a bit of trouble so I decided to delete all my phones out of the car and delete our two cars out of the phone and started from scratch. No problems since then with either the cell phone function or the bluetooth audio function.

Unrelated, had trouble getting activated (nothing happened for 30 hours) took it to A T & T and they put in a new SIM card and had service in a matter of minutes. Folders is kind of a nice feature and like the new improved camera(s).

 

I have my phone working, but the bluetooth audio just doesn't connect. Did you have to add your phone twice: once as a phone and once as a bluetooth audio device?

 

Yes, but I removed all traces of all phones EVERYWHERE before adding any phones back. Maybe not a needed step, but while doing it do it. Remember you can have four Bluetooth cellphones, but only two Bluetooth audio sources.

 

Krypttic, I had to add the phone then add the audio. I found the info on page 248 of the Nav owner's manual.
