If not, I wonder if this will be a "retrofittable" safety upgrade.
The '10 ES350 just had the brake override program downloaded during the pedal shaving recall. It most likely can be done for the RX.I'm going to ask my service advisor on my next visit.
The 450h is probably a different set up.

while you are driving press down on the gas and then while the gas is still press down press on the breaks if your tact falls off back to less than 100rpm you have this system in your car now. You do not have to press the gas all the way down just try it when you can drive around 60mph with no one behind you

Ziggy, I'm with you on the "Hope" part. I'm hoping they fix all the minor things pointed out in this forum, I've been holding off on buying the '10 for just that..

Me too. If the '11 comes out with all the same problems I'll probably skip the Lexus.

the hybrid has always had the brake override. This is to prevent the batteries from overheating. That is why only the 2011 lexus non hybrid models will have the brake overide put in

This does appear to be the case for my 450h. I did billy44bo's self test while rapidly accelerating, and the car definitely started braking. Glad to know that "drive-by-wire" override has already been implemented!
