Have not been able to make the pause and wait features of my new 2010 RX350 (with nav.) phone book work. According to the users' manual, it is supposed to automatically dial an extension number (to either activate an answering machine or reach an office extension) if you type a p (pause) followed by the extension number after the phone number into the phonebook. My RX just ignores this. Can anyone help me, please?

 

The only way I can get it to work is by entering the pauses (#'s) and then going to the next screen (the number screen) to send the tones once I'm connected. Of course, you can't navigate to the next screen when the car is moving!

Alternatively, I just dial my voicemail directly from my phone and the tones send fine--since the vehicle isn't dialing.
