It's finally warming up in Chicago and I got to drive with the sun roof open. I have to say at 50 miles per hour there is much less wind noise than on my 2008 RX.

Its funny, when you open it did you notice it does not open all the way? Push and hold the button and you will see it open more and noise will drastically increase - the car gets pressurized at speed. If you crack a window the noise goes away.
It is asking a whole lot for there to be quiet when one opens a huge hole in the roof.
Funny you should say that, I just sold my 2006 Hyundai sonata that had a sunroof, you could have it open and still hold a conversation in the car, RX350, not so much. Probably another cut corner from the bean counters
Sonata's not a Big Box so there's less wind whipping around. Every minivan and SUV we've had has the same "Helicopter Effect" when you just open the sun roof and not one or more windows. Drives the dogs nuts.
