Apples response to Ipod issues
Connecting through the Ipod and USB is still the preferred method over memory sticks as the NAV system can use the Ipod menu as in Artist/Play list/ etc. Just putting everything on a stick works but not nearly as convenient.
I doubt that they can or will do anything about it - they're just a dealership. I am currently talking to the right people but for some reason the Lexus person asked for a VIN number, I don't know why he needs it. a 2010 is a 2010. But I'm afraid they won't do anything without that VIN number.

For what it's worth, yesterday and today my system performed somewhat better and there was no upgrade on anything. The Ipod hasn't left the car. But when I started up, it went 1st to the bluetooth connection. A few seconds after it started playing I head the faint beep in the console of the Ipod connection through the USB. So I pushed the 'Aux' button again and it switched to USB and played perfectly. So I tried the same procedure three different times today and whaddayaknow, it worked. It's not perfect, doesn't just start up that way but seems an easy enough work around. Someone else give it a try that way and see what you come up with. Beats consistently unplugging it and then plugging it back in
.
If you're going tomorrow to confront them with this problem, why don't you print out this string and take it with you. Might put some emphasis on the issue if they see it's not an isolated burp. I 'DO' think though it's isolated to the RX line as far as the Ipod connection gremlin.
apple has a strange implementation of their bluetooth and the issue is the same for most cars. its apple arrogance. its also why I have an evo 4. lexus cant fix the issue easily and its apples fault.
