Default Ipod/aux problems-Help?

I purchased an RX 350 with 6000 miles on it last week. I hooked up my ipod with the usb and aux cables in the console. The problem is that when I play an audiobook and shut off the car, it starts completely over when I restart the car. My ipod software is up to date. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution? It is really frustrating. Thanks!

Here is a long shot....
I find that a simple "thumb drive" works better than my ipod for music, because there is nothing to turn on/off and no battery to recharge. I simply arrange mp3 files in various folders. From the radio controls, you can select folders and then mp3 files within the folder.

Perhaps you could save the audio book as a mp3 file on a thumb drive. With music, selecting the USB port (am/fm/sat/usb/etc) restarts the mp3 file where you left off.

I use an iPod nano 4th generation and works perfectly. Make sure that your iPod model is listed as a compatible model on the RX350 user's manual. Your iPod model may not be fully compatible.

did you connect both USB and AUX? you should try connecting only the USB [ipod cable] or just AUX and not both. Mine is connected via USB so i can play it in the vehicle and also use it outside the vehicle fully charged.
