Default Automatic Lock/Unlock

When shift the car other than to "P", the doors do not automatically lock. Can you program such that when driving to lock all doors and when on park to automatically unlock?

Thanks for your advice.

Is your RX NAV equipped? If yes, go to Setup > Vehicle > Vehicle Customization > Door Lock Settings. There are a variety of door lock/unlock settings you can set, like for driver side only, or all doors, or by speed, etc.

If not you'll probably have to get it set by the dealer. But its doable.

On a non-navi RX, you can change the setting for auto-lock and unlock feature for the door lock by pressing and holding the folder button on the steering wheel for 3-5 seconds until you see the small info window in the instrument gauge cluster displays the Lexus personalized settings. From there, just scroll to the auto-lock w/ shifter and auto-unlock w/ shifter and change accordingly to your preferences.

My 2001 RX 300 does not have a folder button on the steering wheel. Any other ways to set up the auto locks?

Just had my 1000 mile service done and did not authorize any changes to settings, but now upon approaching the car after using the remote start I have to use the unlock button on the remote to get into the car. Before the service I could just open the door.

Under Setup/Vehicle /Vehicle Customization/Door Lock Settings

Is "Access with Elec. Key" set to On or Off?

Thanks for the suggestion. I assume I can see this with the folder button on the steering wheel. I have not messed with these menu items yet.
