Default Matador Red is Mine...

OK, so we picked it up last night from Lexus of Pleasanton.

Everything was as ordered. Sport package, tow package (which still requires a receiver and ball mount installation), Premium package.

Gorgeous car. Unfortunately, we picked it up after dark, so no real pics are available yet. We'll take some this weekend.

Initial impression of the sport suspension - it's DEFINITELY firmer than the standard suspension. Cornering hard is tighter, stiffer. Unfortunately, so is the ride. We took it on a 20 minute ride along some bad roads before deciding to go ahead with it. I found out once we got home that my husband is now fearful that the ride is too harsh for his surgically-repaired back.

I haven't had a chance to check tire pressure yet; I'll check that tonight.

The sale was fine - for the special order (which no dealer was willing to do in June except this one in my area) they discounted $2250 off of MSRP. I do think I could have negotiated harder, but it seemed a fair price for what I got, and I wasn't interested in pinning them to the wall.

My salesman was capable and communicative throughout, and I really appreciated that. ESPECIALLY considering this was a 25 week wait from order to delivery...

Pics to follow...

Sandi

Oh, and edited to add:

1) Headrests are no problem for us. We specifically paid attention to them, and the positioning is fine for our preferred positions.

2) Slight rattle in the cargo cover. This will be addressed.

3) The salesman included a USB cord, already installed, as a nicety.

4) Bumper is fine.

Sandi, congrats. Definitely check the tire pressure. Nice part is you can do it from inside the car now The ride is going to suffer a bit with the sport package. But it has more responsive steering and a tighter feel. That's why I ordered mine that way too. Good luck

Anita, if I remember correctly, the tire monitoring system is standard on the hybrid, but only on the 350 in one of the upper-end all-inclusive packages. I think I have to check my tire pressure the old-fashioned way...get my husband to do it.

I am pretty sure all the US model RX350 have the tire pressure monitoring system standard. Its a requirment by the goverment by 2011 or 2012. I think the Hybrid version gets the dash read out of the actual tire pressure in PSI while the RX350 only gets a warning light when one of the tire pressure is low.
BTW, Lexus is usually pretty good about the setting the tire pressure in their pre-delievery inspection.

Direct Tire pressure monitor is standard on all models 350/450h. However, on the 450h, you get to actually see the tire pressure on the multi-information display between the guages. This is not even available as an option on the RX

Look at the driver door jam and see what the recommanded tire pressure is.

Cold tire pressure should be 33 psi. Actually my dealer was not so wonderful in checking as I had to inflate all 4 of my tires.

Did you buy a demo? Usually, if the dealer forget to set the pressure, it is left high for shipping purpose.

Nice! How is the RX driving with the lower tire pressure?
