I just picked up a 2010 RX350 loaner from my dealership and I am very very impressed. I was not fond of the last generation RX at all. I thought it was a little weak and kind of feminine relative to its more burly and powerful competitors. This new model though is larger, wider, more aggressive , more powerful ( I think) and handles better than any SUV I have driven in this class. The loaner is a base verson but I am still imopressed with the luxury the car offers and how the fun factor in driving has been turned up a bit.
On the way home today I found myself pushing it a bit through some corners and I am imressed with how flat the car remained and how direct the steering felt.

Lexus nailed this one . BIG TIME!!
So, when are you purchasing one of these beauties?
lol i think some of those things are in your head. its only like point something of an inch longer and wider, and has 5 more horsepower. but still goo to hear that non RX drivers are liking it
Well the vehicle is wider and larger, it has a more burly look, and the handling has been improved. They stuck to a winning formula, but the execution has been sharpened in a number of places, for the better IMO.
same here i never liked the design or interior of the older RX generations, i was actually in the market for a Land Cruiser which is surprisingly not only in the same price as the RX but can actually get more expensive than an RX.
i know the two vehicles are not comparable, the Land Cruiser is a much tougher body-on-frame true 4x4, but in the end the interior luxury/comfort and gadgets in the RX and the RX smaller overall size won me over.
The Land Cruiser in the same price range didn't even have navigation/backup camera.
worth noting though that the Land Cruiser actually rode smoother and transmitted less road bumps than the RX. probably due to its much heavier weight and bigger profile 18" tires.

Reason: spelling
The biggest difference I found (and yes I love all of my previous RXs - sniff) is the trans - so smooth. It shifts effortlessly. The six speed is great. Definite improvement over the past.

Funny... I was looking at a LX and LC and RX... and ended up feeling the same way. Also helps that my wife's 08 350 has been totally bombproof. Hoping to hear from dealer to see if they can preference a Japan built 350AWD loaded with everything but rear ent. For those interested... there are 4 out there if they haven't been snapped up... 2 red, 1 black and 1 golden almond.
