Default Nearly four months in...

I love my RX350. After four months and nearly 5,000 miles it's performing well and still has that new car smell. Thought I'd give a report and see what others are experience.

Likes:
Style and color
Quickness/acceleration (for an SUV)
Gas mileage (compared to GX47) is approx 21mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway
Mouse/joystick screen controls
Interior lighting

Dislikes:
Very bumpy ride - especially for passenger and anything in the car on a seat or in the back (creates rattles)
Center console/storage bin - who designed that thing with only a partial lid opening???...the number of bruises I have on my arm is crazy!
Inconsistent sensitivity of keyless entry touch points - sometimes it recognizes my touch and sometimes it doesn't

Others?

19" wheel ? I think if you change it back to 17" might get ride of bumpy ride. reduce tire pressure a little will also help but MPG will reduce too. more sports = more bumpy.

After about 4 months, I've been happy with the car. Same color combo as yours, got use to the black mats. I'm suprised at the hwy mileage about 25+ mpg, in town (beach) stop sign to stop sign, it's about 16+ better then my rx 04. Still trying to figure out the keyless entry, it's a pain when washing the car, ? whether the doors are still locked when you walk back towards the car. In my case, when I park the car to take a long run, hide the remote under the back bumper. Oops the doors are locked but was surprised to learn, the rear hatch stays unlock. But besides that, been happy with it.

Talking about MPG, mine sucks! It's about 15- in where I'm. But once I go on highway, it's about 25+.

My gas mileage has been spotty, but has recently improved quite a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion on the tires. I will have them make the adjustments when I take it in for the 5,000 mile service.

Anyone else find the center console opening very annoying?

I have about the same 5000k miles, and pretty much agree with pros and cons. Bumpy part is strange, for me. I find that bumps are less intrusive, if the speed is above 15 mph. Otherwise, I feel every bump. I think one of the major contributors to the "bumpinness" is the shorter wheelbase compared to other SUVs in its class. Or the new Gas Charged Shock Absorbers are not balanced well - I am hoping with time it will get better, as the ride should soften up abit. I actually hear a thumping sound going over some bumps.

Mileage wise, I am averaging 17.6 mpg between refills. Average speed 20 mph per monitor info. With A/C on, and on hot days, get less than 16 mpg, in the same driving. Still, I get about 3 mpg better mileage than my 05 Acura MDX was.

I can spend 2 hours in the traffic jam on 3rd Ave, so it's no surprise my MPG will be 15-. My average speed is around 16 MPH. I believe my big foot and this city are the main factors.

let me see if I can get this correct--city mileage in rx350 is mid perhaps upper teens--highway mid 20's

the 450 is probably upper 20's on both--

so assuming driving is tilted to city 350 gets around 20 and 350 9 miles more?

(some 450s reporting over 30--some a bit less)

so gas savings around $700 per year--so payback is about 8 years for the hybrid --does that sound realistic?
