Default Mods for the 3rd gen RX?

i know it's too early to talk about mods (the 2010 RX just came out recently), but do you plan on modding your RX? aftermarket jdm bodykits, larger wheels, lowering (if available)...anyone?

i think there is a bodykit already for our car by wald http://lexusenthusiast.com/2009/03/2...-lexus-rx-350/

i like the look but i don't think it is worth modding a family suv LMAO!

I wouldn't call it a true mod, but one of the first things I put on was a screen to protect the radiator from rocks etc. The grill offers no protection and the radiator fins already have a few hits to it (live in an area with lots of construction traffic/ sand/rocks etc). This was the same thing I did with 05RX330.

good call. i've never heard of a screen that protects the radiator before. where can you pick one up? any internet links?

assuming i do buy the 2010 RX, one of the first things i will definitely do is add a 3M clear bra to the hood and front bumper. i may also add rust protection for added protection and dampening.

I did this to our older RX,
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...n-air-dam.html

I used the same concept for the area of the main grill in the 2010RX. THe older RX had exposed components at the air dam level, and several reports of heat exchanger replacement because of rock damage. THe 2010 RX does not have the same problem as far as the air dam area is concerned, rocks would have to ricochet up to get the heat exchanger, but the slots in the main front grill are plenty big enough as I already have a few bent fins. BTW, stormforge, you mentioned rust protection addition...don't they include that up there in snow country?

you are correct, lexus rust protection comes standard with all lexus vehicles (canadian warranty is 72 months or unlimited kilometers for corrosion perforation, US warranty should be similar). technically it's not really required to add additional rust protection from my dealer or aftermarket vendor, considering that we don't really get alot of snow and ice in my city. but having that extra layer of protection allows me to sleep better at night. another side benefit of adding aftermarket rust protection is that it dampens noise a bit, making the interior a little bit more quieter.

thx for the link, i'll look into that screen after i finish posting this. if i have any questions about it, i'll holler back.

there are many aftermarkets mods available for the new rx. Japan has it all.
If I had a new body I would fix it up, air suspension and 20+ is a must.

LX MODE

I want a new center console lid hinge that opens far enough I can get my hand in it. The current set up is very ill conceived. Hear that Japan?

lexus australia have some interesting accessories for the 2010 RX:

http://www.lexus.com.au/model/rx350ng#

some of the available "mods" you could add are:
1) scuff guard (for the rear bumper, when you load/unload cargo)
2) mud flaps
3) side step (picture not shown)
4) nudge bar

info and pics from lexus enthusiast website.
