I have comfort, premium, navigation, and few other individual options like wood/leather, tow package, and etc. Only thing I wish I had is HUD but didn't wanted to wait a month or more. Reading the RX forum, I am not sure why there is so much demand for entertainment package when it can’t even play HD. Lexus advertises 2010 RX as most technologically advance Lexus to date but the entertainment system doesn’t play Blue Ray discs. Many people are now buying Blue Ray discs so DVD player will be useless for me and many others with new HD collection. Hope next Lexus's entertainment system will play HD discs and it will definitely worth the option.
It's pretty useless to have a Blu-ray disc in the car unless you have a 60" Pioneer Elite plasma display in the rear seat area. I think DVD is good enough resolution for a car application with 9" screen, IMHO.
Oh and the reason I ordered this package is because I have 2 small children who usually inhabits the back seat. But that's just me.

Agreed. You only see a benefit with Blu-Ray on large high-def aka HD displays.
I understand the Blu-Ray features on 1080p but the reference was based on new movie being purchased for home are now Blu-ray HD. Unless I can convert all newly purchased Blu-ray for home, I won't be able to use the entertainment system in the car unless I purchase both DVD and HD format of the same title. I currently have two screen portable DVD player attached to the headrest so it works for me to entertain the kids in long trips but it would have been nice if the Lexus entertainment system supported Blu-ray considering the cost of the option. I don't think I have seen any auto maker with factory installed entertainment system with Blu-ray support.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the new Blu-ray releases come with DVD and iTunes versions inside now. At least the ones I've been purchasing lately (mostly kids' movies)... and I am also in Canada. Not sure if that makes any difference.

I love my Blue Ray at home, but like most new DVD players, it artificially up-converts later releases to 'near' Blue Ray quality pretty well. I'm thinking that with the late model player in the Lexus and small 9" screens, it would pretty hard to see a difference from a High Quality std DVD player and a Blue Ray player. And it's likely most of the movies played in the car would be for the kids, right ???
Just my 2 cents, I'm not getting the M/L system anyway unless it just comes in the car I take.
yep. I have a Pioneer Elite system (plasma and Blu-ray) at home and the up-conversion from dvd discs are amazing. Of course you still can't beat the full HD resolution and loss-less sound quality of Blu-ray discs.
