Hi...I just purchased my 2010 Rx 350 here in Canada, Touring Package. I do have the Navigation, but not the Rear DVD System. I was wondering if the Navigation system plays DVDs when the car is in park? I tried, but it didn't read the DVD. Haven't tried another one yet. Do the models with just Navigation and not the rear DVD systems play DVDs? Thanks!

iirc, if your car does not have mark levinson audio, it doesn't play dvds

If you do have ML, it will play DVD while parked

How can we find out whether we have ML ? My cousin's 2010 RX350 comes with NAV.

ML is usually a special order. If you have it, the name Mark Levinson premium audio system is inscribed just below the power/volume **** on the audio.

I'm curious. We have the RSES, so obviously we can play DVDs. The system doesn't have Mark Levinson written anywhere, but is it safe to assume they use the ML head unit for the RSES, but not tell you that and probably not install as many speakers? Video will play on the NAV screen as well..but only in park with the parking brake on.

no, having rses doesn't necessarily mean you have ml head unit up front. if you have ml, then it will say so on the head unit. another way to test, if you have ml, then the changer up front will play dvd video. if you can't, you don't have ml. right now when you say video will play up front, it's just video played from the rses system in the back. at least that's my understanding

ML is a whole different animal, much better DSP, and sound equalizer.
