Question Ipod Problem

Just bought a new 2010 RX350. After connecting the ipop to the difficult to find connection the auto system took over control of the ipod. Now the problem and question: I download books and they are placed on my Ipod. Books are generally downloaded in 1 or 2 parts. After playing and turning off the auto the ipod tends to continue. But more importantly when starting the car again the ipod does NOT start where left off but instead goes back to the beginning of the book. The Lexus dealer doesn't have an answer.

Anyone out there have an idea?

Thanks

Thanks. What I ended up doing was connecting from the IPOD earphone plug to the auxilliary connector on the RX which sits next to the IPOD connector. At least I can still control the ipod while playing etc and the sound comes through the car's speakers and I don't have to use those annoying fm transmitters.

I'd convert the file to a mp3 and use the usb option. The usb functionality is much better in my opinion. When you turn off the car, it remembers where you left off when you start car again. You can convert AC3 files to MP3 within iTunes.

Not unless they've been encrypted or bought from the iTunes store, in which case, you have to convert to Audio CD then save as MP3s, which is a pain in the rear. Unless anyone has a better idea of converting AC3s to MP3s, I'd be glad to hear it.
